Test Scores

Official test scores from English Language Proficiency tests (TOEFL, IELTS, and PTE) must be sent directly from the testing center. To learn more about the English language proficiency requirement, visit

info.sjsu.edu/static/admission/international.html.

For proper identification, be sure to register for tests using the name you provided on your application. Score reports from English language proficiency tests that are over two years old are not valid. If your score is over two years old, you must take the test again.

Transfer In Form

If you are transferring from another U.S. institution, you must complete the top portion of the Transfer In Form, which can be found on sjsu.edu/isa/forms. Take your form and your admit letter to your school; ask them to complete the remainder of the form and fax it to SJSU (408-924-2035). You should make this request at the end of your last term of attendance at your former school, and before the first day of classes at SJSU.

Please note: If you are offered admission to SJSU and are coming from outside the United States, SJSU will process your I-20 form and mail it to you in your admission packet so that you may then start your F-1 visa process.

Translations

Required transcripts/mark sheets must be submitted directly from the issuing school in the original language. If the original language is not English, translations are also required; see below for information regarding translation services.

Certified English Translations

Documents in languages other than English must be accompanied by certified English translations by an approved government or school official. Notarized translations alone will not be accepted.

I-20 Form

If you are offered admission to SJSU and are coming from outside the United States, SJSU will process your I-20 form and mail it to you in your admission packet so that you may start your F-1 visa process. In order to create your I-20, you need to provide a permanent home address, not a Post Office Box address. When you apply, please be sure to include a home address.
